Websites are internet sites that can be accessed via browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera). The site opens by entering an URL (e.g. www.stopline.at) or an IP-address in a browser. E-groups can be accessed the same way as websites, but they also offer to create photo albums (e.g. MSN Groups). In addition, there is the possibility to give access only to members of this group.
If there is illegal material on websites or e-groups, the Stopline locates the host, i.e. the ISP or server via which the illegal content was posted on the internet. If an Austrian internet service provider is affected, he is contacted along with the public authorities and informed about the illegal content.
If the illegal material is published by a foreign server, the local authorities are also informed. Within the context of Inhope, the Stopline forwards the information to foreign partner hotlines, which commence their own procedures and contact the local authorities.
The URL (web address) of the relevant location must be specified here. In order to avoid typing errors it is advisable to copy it from the address field in the upper area of the browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox). If you have a password that provides access to the material, please specify it in order to make a further processing possible.
NOTE: Please do not submit any graphical material, screenshots or saved HTML-files.
